Black Cotton Volume Two

We are excited to not only launch our Black Cotton Comic website but to also use it to announce Volume Two — BLACK COTTON: WHITE ON WHITE CRIME & THE PLIGHT OF GENTRIFICATION continues the story of the Cotton family, a year after the "Officer Involved Shooting” and events of Volume One. Here’s what the next story is about:

Set in an alternate reality where the social order of white and black is reversed, the elitist Cotton family, led by Qia Cotton, has set their sights on a low-income neighborhood with plans of buying-out the current residents, improving housing, and renovating for new businesses. However, the gentrification is met with resistance and when the violent killing of a young white teen happens, the Cottons’ plans are halted. Newly promoted detective Zion Cotton is brought in to lead the case despite the police department’s objections and his family’s business dealings. But Zion is unwilling to compromise justice and goes against his department’s wishes to bring the teenager’s murderer to justice, putting him in the middle of his sister Qia and his family’s plans for gentrifying the neighborhood and ultimately, pitting him against the neighborhood thugs.
